The wine’s rich, intense colour shows hues of ruby and garnet, and faint tinges of purple around the edges. Plummy liquorice with touches of star-anise, freshly-roasted nuts and white pepper are displayed on the nose. Juicy on the palate with loads of ripe, red and black berry-fruit flavours. Soft, rich and elegant throughout with an exceptionally classy finish. Very enjoyable while young but further cellaring will enhance complexity. Cellaring of eight to twelve years is recommended.

Rietvallei Special Select Shiraz is a full-bodied, complex wine with excellent fruit and wood integration. Lots of work in the vineyard and minimal interference in the cellar allows this wine to express its terroir to the fullest.

LDP wine of the week- Le Bonheur Cabernet Sauvignon 2007.
Blackcurrant and cherry followed by cigar box and dark chocolate with whiffs of delicate vanilla oak. Full–bodied with a good tannic structure and a long finish with ample cherries and pine needles.

The LDP wine of the week is the Mooiplaas Cabernet Sauvignon 2005.
Gently pressed and fermented in stainless steel tanks. Barrel matured for 30 months in french oak barriques. Wine is then bottle matured for 5 years before release for optimum enjoyment.
An elegant and sophisticated wine revealing complex layers of cassis, dark fruit, hints of leather, tobacco & spice. Well structured, ﬁne velvet tannins and lingering aftertaste. Long barrel maturation ensured excellent fruit & tannin integration.

The LDP wine of the week is the Theuniskraal Bouquet Blanc 2012.
Aromas of spice and floral flavours from the Gewürtztraminer combined with sunripe raisins and a whiff of Muscat flavours. Fresh and sweet with a complexity of fruit flavours and a lingering aftertaste.

Aromas of ripe prunes and cherries with hints of wood spices and notes of pepper in the background. A rich, full-bodied wine with a velvety mouthfeel and a beautifullyintegrated fresh, fruity character and elegant, supple and soft tannins.

The LDP wine of the week is the lovely Rietvallei Special Select Chardonnay 2012.
A full-bodies, complex wine with excellent fruit and wood integration. Lots of work in the vineyard and minimal interference in the cellar allows this wine to express its terroir to the fullest. A complex nose with appealing roasted citrus aromas and vibrant lime and toasty oak flavours, also revealing nuances of butterscotch with touches of pineapple and white pear.
Pair with rousted chicken, grilled duck or any creamy poultry dishes.
